SOUNDING EARTH, 2025

An Artistic Cartography of the Present in Real Time

Installation (electronics, solar modules, moss, wood)

Sounding Earth is a geography of listening—a sound map of alive terrains. It is an acoustic tapestry woven not from memory, not from archive, but as a heartbeat…from the Real time - now.

This artistic research project is born from the fieldwork across India, Bhutan, and Indonesia, transmitting the sounds from these regions in real time. The microphones placed in those landscapes capture biodiverse terrains and their elements… human and beyond human. They do not record, or capture, or translate: they extend! These live sounds are spoken through handcrafted instruments that were built together with instrument makers from those countries.

This installation is like extending the ears in several directions, at several points across our planet at the same time. Through this installation, several mechanical times from different spaces merge into this constant living moment, here. They emerge, shift, vanish, and are alive, never the same twice. This is a cartography made through ears, not lines. A sensing of place through resonance. A co-composition with wind, animals, weather, and the breadth of the lands. This project is a call To listen…Now….
